If there’s a bad boy in A Heart’s Journey, it’s Derek Hall. Good-looking and charming (when he wants to be), he’s a bully, and Haleigh had been one of his victims in high school.

The former football star of Greenlawn High School was the drunk driver responsible for the death of one girl and severe injuries to another. He’s back in Greenlawn after serving prison time, as his not-so-charming self, although he shows up in church with his mother. Haleigh doesn’t believe there is much hope that Derek will ever change, but Willie doesn’t agree.

Chad Young appears at Jeremy and Aubrey’s wedding. Although he seems familiar, Haleigh doesn’t know who he is, but he knows a lot about her. Her brothers’ friend, he shows up several other times in A Heart’s Desire and proves himself a true friend at a time when Haleigh needs extra help.

Only a week left. Tuesday, July 12, 2022, is release day for A Heart’s Journey. When Haleigh Abbot returns to Greenlawn, her childhood home, seeking forgiveness and renewed friendships, Willie White hires her to work in his florist shop. Drawn to Willie by his kindness, strength, and faith, Haleigh refuses to allow their relationship to go beyond friendship. Although forgiven and accepted back into the Greenlawn community, shadows of fear and guilt from the past still cling to her. When a little boy and his dog under her care are hurt in a terrible accident, she goes into an emotional tailspin.

Haleigh has held a special place in Willie’s heart since childhood. When she left Greenlawn and shut him out of her life, it hurt, but he never forgot her. Her return gives him an opportunity to win her heart. Will her determination to prove she can handle life’s challenges on her own stand in his way?

It’s on preorder from Amazon until July 12.
