Have you had to give up a home you loved, a job you enjoyed, a family heirloom or favorite piece of furniture, or a beloved pet?
Have you given up your dream of owning a home because of financial loss or of a life-long career because of illness or injury? Are you grieving the loss of a parent, spouse, child, or another loved one?
I’ve experienced many changes in my lifetime, and probably you have too. Some of these changes have been good, some not so good. Some changes have been my choice, some beyond my control.
Letting go and accepting change has not always been easy for me. However, I know that if I don’t let go, grief, resentment, and bitterness can become a pattern in my life, leading to greater loss and even illness.
Kate and Jack in Meadow Song each have life-changing choices to make. Will they be able to let go of the past in order to move on with their lives? Will they allow the Master Potter to take the broken pieces of their lives and make them into something new and good?
The changes in my life have been easier for me to accept because I have Jesus Christ in my life. I believe Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” (NKJV) It doesn’t mean my life will be trouble-free, but God will be with me through it all.
